About us

Our greatest asset is the rapport we have with city government,  the internal contact database that we use, our relationship building interaction from the start of a code check project all the way thru the permit issuance process.   When variances are required we work closely with all parties involved while trying to maintain a professional level of debate that is necessary to make sure the code is being used to your advantage.  Information, tools, resources, proven success, and quality code research are all intricate parts of your project completion.   Our goal is to utilize the trifecta of code research, variance management and permit procurement to benefit the outcome of your sign project needs.

Tracey Diehl

Tracey Diehl

Tracey began as an assistant to the Building Official for city government handling many types of permits in 2002. Tracey then became a permit manager at a sign company in January of 2005. This experience provided Tracey with the knowledge of all permitting operations, government infrastructure and navigating the planning process as it is related to regulating each community through the process of requiring permits for construction. Over the course of this time she received extensive permits experience related to the sign industry. In turn, Tracey gained the confidence and knowledge to become a successful permits manager. Tracey started Expedite The Diehl in December of 2007 as a result of her personal experience with the permit process and understanding how regulations effect commercial sign companies. Both backgrounds combined with dedication, loyalty, flexibility are all attributes that will benefit your company when partnering with ETD in many ways. In 2009 Damiane’ Handa joined our team and Expedite The Diehl became certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise [WBE].

In the beginning ETD grew in the Midwest and in the mid-Atlantic region, providing quality services to take the leg work out of your permit projects. Eventually we began to slowly increase the size of our team.  In 2015 ETD went from being a team of five to a team of fifteen, as the need arose for us to handle larger projects, we grew to be able to support the companies we served.  In 2017 Expedite The Diehl became Expedite The Diehl LLC and currently ETD has over 30 team members.  Tracey has expanded the company to include a team of well-trained code researchers that can handle all your company’s code check needs. Our permit management team has over 60 years of combined permit experience and the proven ability to get the job done on a national scale while handling projects of all sizes.  Today, ETD maintains a presence across the U.S. and Canada with a variance team that travels nationally whenever the job requires it.  Tracey continues to manage the daily operations of ETD and provides consultation services for a variety of national image builders and their clients.

Damiane’ Handa

In 2009 Damiane’ started ETD as our very first code researcher. Learning a new language and type of skill was fun and challenging for Damiane’ who had no background experience to start. She continued to develop deeper research skills to keep up with the ever-changing sign industry and customer expectations. Damiane’ has since created a more comprehensive code check that became a standard here at Expedite The Diehl. She has since used those skills to pioneer the development of our code research training program.  Since her inception, Damiane’ has completed thousands of code research documents (18,000 and counting) and continues to interview all potential code check researchers and get them started in the training program. In 2017, Damiane’ transitioned to the permit team and is now one of the lead permit managers. She has quickly gained a reputation for getting things done and making customers happy. She is attentive to detail, compassionate and excels at communication. Every permit that comes across her desk is personal and important to her as well as the relationships she builds with the customer and the jurisdiction. In addition to all of that, she has cross-trained for every other role at ETD making her a true asset to our entire team of over 30 people.
